Dear Mom and Dad,
Well here are some more pictures. Half of them are in this envelope and there are another 10 in a second envelope that I will send at the the same time. These pictures were all taken on post. This should give you a better idea of what the place looks like where I spend most of my time. You will notice in these pictures a lot of old buildings that look like airplane hangers. They used to be, because Storck Barracks was a German Luftwaffe base during WWII. Most of these old hangers are used for motor pools now. We do have a small air field here, with a few helicopters and two airplanes, some of which you will see in these pictures. There is not much to say about most of these pictures, but I have numbered them as usual.
I took this one to try and show you that little village in the background between the family housing area buildings. It's just one of many small villages that are near by.
This one is of the church here on post. It's design is quite a contrast compared to the local German churches.
An old airplane hanger, now used for a motor pool.
Another hanger, now used for maintenance, etc.
This is an M8-80, an interesting vehicle. It is what you might call a tow truck for tanks. It is probably on of the most powerful machines the army has.
This is a picture of the post heating plant. Illishiem's contribution to world pollution.
And finally, another view of the church, with some kind of a radio antenna in the fore-ground.
Well that's it for now....
